A technology driven solution to manage one of the most important area in the industry of Health; and that is Voluntary Blood Donors Database Management. Here we are with the wider area of solutions through our project “getdonor”.

India is the second most populated country in the world with 130+ crore population. Every year India requires about 5 crore blood units, out of which only 2.5 crore units are readily available for disposal. The proximities of blood requirement are Someone or the other need blood for every 2 seconds, more than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day, total of 3 crore blood components is transfused each year, the average red blood cell transfusion is approximately 3 pints, sickle cell patients can require frequent blood transfusions throughout their lives, more than 10 lakh new people are diagnosed with cancer each year, a single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units of blood.

There are many organisations working to bring this huge trouble to a solution. But there are many challenges in the journey. Most importantly accessibility of donors to the needy, confirmation of donations made, proximity of the donor and timely donations.

After understanding and having done a deep research into it; we decided to make a solution with technology and communication and create an impact. That is when we started to develop the website “www.getdonor.in”.

Getdonor.in is a technology-driven solution to bridge between the blood needy and the donor. This application is safe for any donor to register as we are concerned about Privacy of Contact Details of Donor. We have formulated the process with the solutions to ensure a smooth flow from the request of blood by the needy till the confirmation of the donation be made by having the privacy of the contact information and giving quick access of donor, to the needy on time in a consistent, reliable and sustainable manner. The said unique features of getdonor are to be SMS & Email Validation, Geo Map Tagging through Google Maps, Donor Requests through an SMS, Donation confirmation through Missed Call, Server-based chat messenger (BOT Technology)* and Responsive application to all devices & browsers*.
